  • In large skillet, melt butter, stir in flour, cook 1 minute.
  • Slowly stir in milk, cook until bubbly.
  • Add cheese, salt and pepper, mix well.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Put 3 pieces asparagus on each ham slice.
  • Roll up and place in 13x9 baking pan.
  • Cover with the cheese sauce.
  • Sprinkle with crumbs.
  • Bake at 375* for 20 minutes.

  1. Full of cheesy goodness. The ham I used wasn't an especially good addition as I don't think it complimented the asparagus well. I used bacon on a few stalks as I ran out of ham and preferred the flavor.
     
  2. Delicious. I substituted mozzarella for the cheddar to use what I had on hand, but I'm sure cheddar would be just as good. Will definitely make it again. Thanks.
     
  3. These were really, really good!! There was a bit too much cheese sauce, for me, but the flavors were delightful. Will definitely make again next asparagus season.

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
