Elegant Tomato-Beef Casserole

"A very elegant company-coming or holiday dish. We kids always looked forward to leftovers when Ma had a dinner party, and now make it occassionally for holidays ourselves."

ingredients

• 453.59 g wide egg noodles
• 59.14 ml butter
• 177.44 ml onion, chopped
• 236.59 ml green pepper, chopped
• 1360.77 g lean ground sirloin
• 226.79 g cream cheese
• 473.19 ml sour cream
• 473.19 ml cottage cheese
• 340.19 g tomato sauce
• 226.79 g tomato paste

directions

1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions, drain.
2. Saute onion and green pepper in butter, set aside.
3. Brown ground beef, drain if nesessary.
4. Add onion and green pepper mix to beef, set aside.
5. Cream together cream cheese and sour cream, add cottage cheese, mix well.
6. Mix cheese mix into noodles, mix well.
7. Mix tomato sauce and tomato paste, set aside.
8. Butter a 4-quart casserole.
9. Pour noodle mix into casserole.
10. Spread beef mix over noodles.
11. Spread tomato mix over beef mix.
12. Bake at 350 degree for 1 hour.

All 9 of us gave it a big 5 stars!! This is easy to make and so very tasty!! My DM actually finished everything on her plate! She doesn't do that very often!! Thanks davianng for a real keeper!! I might just have to rethink my Christmas dinner plans! You're the best baby on PAC!!
