Hot Bacon & Swiss Dip With Pita Crisps

- 226.79 g package cream cheese
- 118.29 ml Miracle Whip (I would not substitute mayonnaise)
- 113.39 g swiss cheese, shredded
- 29.58 ml green onions, sliced thinly
- 8 slice bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 whole wheat pita bread
- 44.37 ml butter
- 118.29 ml sesame seeds, toasted
directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- In microwave safe bowl, soften cream cheese on medium (50%) for 30 seconds. Mix cream cheese, miracle whip, swiss cheese, green onions and bacon until well blended.
- Spoon mixture into 2 1/2 cup casserole dish or 9-inch pie plate(or use tiny crock pot). Microwave on high for 4 minutes or until heated through, if using crock pot, just pour mixture into it and turn it on.
- Take pita and cut them into 8ths, and then split each triangle by separating it from outer seam, into 2 pieces. Spread rough side with butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Place on cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until crisp.

Diner, I have to say that we really enjoyed this dip, on a chilly Saturday afternoon. I think I've had similar, but, what's not to love with a cream cheese/bacon/swiss dip? ;-) I did reduce by half, for the 2 of us to munch. I also skipped the green onions (I was out), but I used a pinch of onion powder, and just a sprinkle of garlic powder. This was baked in the oven, alongside the pitas, for 20-25 minutes. I also added some sea salt flakes to the pita crisps. The sweet/tang from the Miracle Whip shines thru in this appy. Thanks so much for sharing!

This is a great dip. I really loved it. DH didn't because he found it too sweet. Probably because of the miracle whip (I made recipe#267595). Maybe I'd try again with half needed. The good news is that I had it all for myself (I made half recipe). The pita crisps are so good. I used black sesame seeds. Thanks Diner :) Made for Potluck tag game

The dip was okay for me. I love green onions but, unfortunately felt they overwhelm the dip. I couldn't really taste the bacon or the swiss, which were of course the reasons I made it. The pita crisps, on the other hand, were fabulouse. Just a little heads up: I cooked mine until they were nice and crisp, let them cool, then put them in a ziploc to take to a party. When I opened the bag they were soft. NOT the recipe's fault but something people might want to be aware of.

I subscribe to several cooking magazines, that usually, require everyday on-hand ingredients. <br /><br />I am not very fond of most seafood, but do enjoy lobster, grilled shrimp and chilean sea bass. I won't cook anything with rosemary or curry, as I really don't like either herbs' flavor. And now from trying recipes, I found that I don't like dijon mustard, but love vinegar and mustard, not sure why I don't like the taste of dijon mustard.</p>
