  • Shred the Spam and Velveeta in a large bowl. The cheese is easier to work with if you place it in the freezer for approximately one hour prior to shredding. Add desired amount of mustard and mix. The consistency should be thick, but easy to spread. Spread on bread or buns. Place directly on rack in oven or toaster oven for 6 - 8 minutes on broil or if you want crispy bread, bake.
  • I personally like a crispier bread and I like spamwich mixture to be slightly burnt. My mom uses hamburger buns and bakes a batch of spamwiches, and puts them back in the oven to store overnight so she can eat a couple cold ones for breakfast.
  • Store the leftover mixture in the refridgerator. I place it on defrost in the microwave when I'm ready to use it again. Enjoy.

  1. First off, I am a Spam person....I love the stuff. This recipe is yummy made strictly by the recipe. I tweaked it a little bit to suit my family though. I added 1/4 c chopped green olives (the kind with the pimientos in the middle), 2 celery ribs sliced, 2 green onions chopped (tops and about 2 inches of the green only), 3 drops of green hot sauce, and I used brown spicy mustard instead of the yellow. The other time i made it all I had was 2 pkg. of those little hot mustard dips left over from a trip to McDonald's. They were yummy in there too. Also, I didn't use Velveeta cheese because my husband doesn't care for it. I used shredded sharp cheddar instead. This is a wonderful way to eat spam for all the rest of you spam lovers out there. Hope you give it a try because it is really good!! Thank you for posting this one!
