These were always on a table at many of our family gatherings. It is the American version of the Calzone. A soft yeast roll stuffed with a delicious mixture of ground beef and cheese. I found this recipe in Taste of Home and it brought back good memories of a stuffed meat pie. Prep time does not include dough rising.

These are awesome! A friend made them for us for a lunch today and when I compared the recipe its the exact same ingredients. My kids and I all really enjoyed them. My plan for when I make them is to add some canned diced chiles and make them with pepper jack cheese - kinda a chile relleno flavor inside a bun. I'll have to post the results.

I thoroughly enjoy these, for something different! I just used 1 lb of ground beef and it works fine. I have made them a few times now and they are just a fun twist on cheeseburgers. Thanks for posting.
